Early Morning Building Fire

July 7, 2016

On Wednesday Morning shortly after 4am, the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company along with Longwood Fire company were dispatched to the area of Mill road and Line Road for a reported Building Fire. Engine 36 and Ladder 25 Quickly went responding and were advised by MICU 25 who was on location of multiple vehicles on fire with extension into a nearby building. A tanker task force was added for the lack of hydrants in that area after this report.

The crew from engine 36 arrived and quickly placed 2, 1.75" hand lines in service to extinguish the vehicles and building. Meanwhile ladder 25's crew began to open up the building and the numerous garage doors.

Rescue 36 and Engine 25-1 arrived and laid a 5" supply from a hydrant that was the last in the water line in East Marlborough. The lay was just under 1500' to reach Engine 36. At 0438 the fire had consumed almost 50% of the building so command requested a second alarm for manpower.

Crews then placed another 1.75" hand line in service at the charlie side of the building. Engine 24 crew stretched a 2.5" attack line from Engine 25 to the alpha bravo corner of the building to knock down the bulk of the fire. With this re-coordinated attack the crews on location make quick aggressive work of the the advancing fire.

Crews continued to work through daylight to overhaul and extinguish all remaining fire in the building. All Crews cleared the scene shortly after 7am.
