Motocycle Accident with a Flight

In the Early Evening Station 36 along with Ambulance 23 and Medic 94 were alerted for a motorcycle accident in the sharp turn on Route 841 at Laramee Road. Ambulance 23 arrived and quickly began patient care on an unstable motorcycle operator with very serious injuries.

Rescue, Engine, Utility, Squad and Command 36 all responded with 16 personnel. On arrival crews assisted EMS with patient packaging and movement to the ambulance.

Fire police from Station 36 and Station 23(Avondale) were requested to shut down Route 841 at route 926 and 842.

Medic 94 (SCCEMS) request Air medical based on the serious nature of the injuries. JeffStat from Brandywine Hospital was alerted for the transport. Engine 36 crew established an LZ at the accident scene in a nearby field. Captain 36 established a LZO and communicated with Jeffstat to coordinate where they would be landing.

Jeffstat arrived and received report and the patient. Crews assisted moving the patient to the helicopter for transport.

Crews cleared the debris and cleared the scene shortly after.
