Busy First Sunday For Po-Mar-Lin

The Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company along with Longwood Fire Company for a Ladder and Micu were dispatched to the 300 block of Marlboro Road for a chimney fire at 1717 hours. Engine 36 (Griffith) responded w/4 soon after dispatch with reports of fire coming from the chimney. Engine 36 arrived with a working chimney fire pulling a 1 3/4 hand line. Ladder 25 arrived putting the aerial to the roof. Engine 36 crew checked for extension and none was found. Crews cleaned the chimney with chimney chains and soon after cleared. Fire was under control at 1741 hours and units cleared around 1800 hours.

The Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company along with Longwood, Kennett, Avondale Fire Companies and RIT from Fame Fire Company were then alerted at 1921 hours for a reported structure fire at the Kennett Country Club in the 100 block of Locust Lane. Lieutenant 36 (Deans) was first arriving with nothing showing. After further investigation fire was out and held to 36 and 25 units for minor ventilation
