Vehicle Fire on Route 1

On June 15, 2018 around 18:45, Station 36 was dispatched to Route 1 Southbound near mile marker 20.6 for a vehicle fire.

36-30 (Skean) and 36-34 (Mallory) were first to arrive on scene and confirmed the vehicle was well involved in fire.

Engine 36 quickly responded with a crew of 6. Once on scene Assistant 36 (Griffith) took Route 1 Command and the rest of the engine crew split into two crews. One team deployed an 1 3/4” attack line while the second team grabbed hand tools and the Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC). The fire was quickly knocked down and the situation was put under control within 9 minutes. Additional crews arrived on Utility 36 and Squad 36 and helped direct traffic and cleanin up the scene. 36 units cleared the scene less than an hour after the initial dispatch.
