Shortly after midnight, Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 block of Poplar Tree to a reported house house fire. Engine 36 was first on scene with a crew of seven and confirmed a working fire with half the house already in flames. Fortunately the house was unoccupied due to construction but all the equipment and supplies within the yard proved to be difficult to maneuver. The crew quickly went to work and pulled a 300 foot hose line to the front door. Rescue 36 and Tanker 36 also made the response and assisted on scene; the fire was contained to half of the house that was on fire initially. Crews cleared after 0330 and went back to station 36 to clear gear and repack the numerous hose lines that were pulled off the rig. Special thanks to all responding companies and to Sadsburyville Fire Company for the stand-by at our station during this incident.
